Tequila Works Art Test

This environment was an Art Test made for Tequila Works. It was based on Song of Nunu's theme, and after the selection process, I started working on the studio on that same game, which released in 2023.

The Art Test task was to create a scene from scratch following the concept art provided (which was quite similar to the first render, minus the green trees and foliage, which I decided to add myself). They also provided the stone door, which needed to be integrated into the scene. It needed to be done in Unreal Engine 4, and within a week.

I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out!

I decided to create some old ruins to complete the other side of the scene, which was not defined by the concept. I also decided to add green foliage, mostly outside the bounds of the playable area, so the red vegetation would stand out more.

The big hole in the ruins allowed the light to come through it at specific times, and light up the stone door from the main view.

There's also a slope through the rocks to access the ruins.

The natural cave leads to another part of the ruins, which has a small temple with a mysterious orb.

At night, using the orb and with the help of the moon light, the ancient mechanism triggers and opens the stone door.

The orb can be placed on the pedestal near the ruined wall.
